3 optionsThe transformation runs locally in your browser. Unusual Unicode can render differently across apps, operating systems and fonts.
Understand the transformation.
Glitch or Zalgo text stacks Unicode combining marks above and below ordinary characters. The underlying text is still made from characters rather than an image, but heavy combinations can render very differently across apps and can be difficult for assistive technology to read.
Know what can change.
These effects are designed for short creative text, not essential information.
- Heavy Zalgo can overlap nearby lines and make interfaces harder to read.
- Some apps strip repeated combining marks or display them differently.
- Keep essential information in ordinary text; this effect is decorative.
Glitch Text Generator FAQ
Specific answers about this effect rather than generic filler.
Is glitch text the same as Zalgo text?
They are commonly used for the same family of effects: normal characters with combining Unicode marks stacked around them. This tool groups those familiar glitch, Zalgo, cursed and creepy-text variations in one place so you can compare intensity without jumping between separate tools.
Why does heavy glitch look different after I paste it?
The destination app, operating system and font decide how combining marks are positioned. Heavy effects are therefore less predictable than ordinary Unicode alphabets.
Does this damage my original text?
No. The tool runs locally in your browser and only changes the copyable output. Your original input remains in the text box.
Can I use it in a username?
Sometimes, but many username fields restrict combining characters. Test the result in the exact destination field before relying on it.
